The University of Michigan offers undergraduate degree programs in 12 schools and colleges. Students apply to the school or college that offers their primary area of study. Students who are applying as freshmen, but who wish to study in programs that admit students in their sophomore or junior year, usually apply to the College of Literature, Science and the Arts or to the College of Engineering.

Taubman College of
Architecture + Urban Planning

offers the pre-professional Bachelor of Science in Architecture, providing students with skills in design and the discipline of architecture. Admission to fall term only.

The School of Art & Design

prepares students to become artists, designers, managers, teachers, entrepreneurs, and more. The Stephen M. Ross School of Business

offers a comprehensive education that is well-suited for a wide range of management positions. Graduates of the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan are among the most sought-after BBAs in the world, both for summer internships and full-time positions. The Ross School’s program is small and very selective; most students enter from the College of Literature, Science and the Arts. Admission is for fall term only and requires 27 transferable credit hours. These 27 credits must be earned as a college student at an accredited college or university and do not include test or AP credits. Degree offered: Bachelor of Business Administration.

Kinesiology

offers a solid foundation in four programs of study: movement science, sport management, physical education, and athletic training. These programs prepare you for an exciting career or further study in any aspect of sport, such as sports marketing and promotion, sports medicine or physical therapy, sports law, or sports journalism. Degrees offered: Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management, Bachelor of Science in Movement Science, Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, Bachelor of Science in Physical Education Teacher Education. The College of Literature, Science
& the Arts (LSA)

is the University’s liberal arts college, and its largest school. The wide variety of subjects allows students to study one or two fields in depth, and also explore different topics and ways of thinking. Graduates of the College go on to careers in business, industry, government, the arts, medicine, law, academic life, and many other professions. Study in LSA is also excellent preparation for transfer into the upper level professional schools; in fact, LSA offers preferred admissions options for six upper level or graduate programs: Business, Pharmacy, Education, Architecture, Information and Social Work. The College of Pharmacy

offers two degrees: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) and Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (BS Pharm Sci). Admission requires junior standing (at least 73 semester hours of credit for Pharm D and 60 for BS Pharm Sci), and is for fall term only. Students applying for a BS Pharm Sci should apply with the regular transfer application through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. To be eligible for the Pharm D program, international students should complete one to two years of prior study in liberal arts and sciences in residence at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada. These students must also apply through the Pharmacy College Application Service (PharmCAS), a centralized application service for colleges and schools of pharmacy provided by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). Online applications through PharmCAS can be found at www.pharmcas.org. For speakers of English as a second language, the “Oral Interview” is required with the MELAB, or the Test of Spoken English (TSE) with the paper- or computer-based TOEFL. (A speaking section is included with the internet-based TOEFL and the IELTS.)
