Preferred Admissions Program
The preferred admissions program is available to freshmen applicants only. Admission to one of the University of Michigan's third-year professional or graduate programs is guaranteed to a limited number of highly qualified freshmen that maintain a specified level of academic achievement during their undergraduate years. The purpose is to encourage greater academic freedom and diversity of course selection, and to prevent students from feeling pressured to take a narrowly structured pre-professional undergraduate program.
Interested applicants should specify, on item 10 of their application, which of the programs below they would like to be considered for and attach a letter stating their reasons for desiring admission into the program. Selections are made in early April and the invitations to the program will provide students with a detailed description of the achievement expectations required for the program.
