Why You Should Attend Campus Day

CONGRATULATIONS! You got into the University of Michigan. As an admitted student you are given the opportunity to attend Campus Day. You may be wondering what Campus Day is. It is when students who are admitted to the University of Michigan are given an opportunity to attend an in-depth tour of the Ann Arbor campus. Campus Day allows you to have the unique experience of seeing the University of Michigan in person and learning if it is a right fit for you. Campus Day allows you and your family members to get an understanding of what U-M is about and how the institution can help you grow as a student and as a person.

What’s unique about Campus Day

Campus Day gives you a better understanding of how campus works on a normal day. It is different from other tours because you are introduced to not only the university but also your individual college/school, as well as housing, student life, and more. You are able to take a more in-depth tour of campus on Campus Day and can see all of the amazing architecture, facilities, and amenities that the university has to offer. There are many panels that allow you and your family to learn more about orientation, housing, and financial aid. In these panels, there are also many activities that students can participate in and become more engaged throughout the tour. The tour also highlights the many student organizations and social activities that the university has, as well as the immersion of downtown Ann Arbor and Central Campus.

Get to know your school or college

On Campus Day, you are also given the opportunity to tour your respective college. This tour allows you to meet other students in your year as well as interact with faculty and staff. By touring your respective school, you are able to get a feel of key buildings and understand what your course schedule may be like. You are able to see how classes are facilitated and understand the way everything within the school is organized. You also are introduced to academic advisors and learn important information from your school about academic expectations, career help, and many more support services, not only within your school/college, but in the larger university as well.
